According to FINRA BrokerCheck, Linda Ann Schnell is currently registered as a broker and investment advisor with Morgan Stanley in Paramus, NJ. Schnell has been hit with a customer complaint alleging $330,000 in damages due to the recommendation and execution of an unsuitable investment strategy.
A previous customer complaint filed against Schnell alleged unsuitable investment recommendations. The complaint was denied by the firm, however, investors should be aware that the denial of a customer complaint by a brokerage firm does not mean that their complaint does not have merit. It is in a brokerage firm’s best interest to deter customers from filing complaints with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (“FINRA”). Investors may still pursue a FINRA arbitration claim to recover their investment losses by contacting KlaymanToskes.
FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) is responsible for regulating all U.S. brokers and brokerage firms doing business with those in the United States and other countries. Under FINRA suitability requirements (FINRA Rule 2111) brokers and brokerage firms have a duty to recommend suitable financial products and trading strategies based on their client’s financial interests.
Facts about each investor, such as their financial situation/needs, age, employment status, tax status, investment objectives and experience, risk tolerance, and what other investments they may be holding must be taken into consideration by brokers/financial advisors in order to meet the “reasonable diligence” requirement of FINRA’s suitability rule. These factors help determine the suitability of a particular investment or investment strategy for a particular investor.
KlaymanToskes can help you determine if your investment loss is due to unsuitable investment advice. Depending on your circumstances, you may be entitled to recover losses through FINRA arbitration. KlaymanToskes works on a contingency basis, meaning we do not collect a fee unless we are able to obtain a financial recovery for you.
To learn more about additional securities violations, see our account activity violations page. FINRA arbitration is a more cost-effective process for investors, often occurring with increased speed and efficiency over a court proceeding.
Former and current customers of Linda Schnell who suffered investment losses are encouraged to contact attorney Lawrence L. Klayman, Esq. at (888) 997-9956 or lawrence@klaymantoskes.com to discuss our investigation and your recovery options. We do not collect attorney’s fees unless we are able to obtain a financial recovery for you.
