John Girgis Faces Multiple Customer Complaints for Unauthorized Trading

John Girgis, a financial advisor, is currently facing a series of customer complaints, with the most recent one being lodged in March 2023. The allegations against Girgis include unsuitability, excessive trading and commissions, unauthorized trading, and negligence. The complainant is seeking damages amounting to $264,475. The complaint pertains to equity OTC and common and preferred stocks transactions that occurred during Girgis’s tenure at SW Financial.

In March 2022, Girgis was implicated in a similar case where the client accused him of churning, excessive commissions, unauthorized trading, unsuitability, negligence, breach of contract, and fraud. The client sought $210,180.83 in damages. The case was eventually settled for $14,999. This complaint was also related to equity OTC and common and preferred stocks while Girgis was registered with Worden Capital Management LLC.

In December 2020, Girgis faced another complaint involving churning and qualitative and quantitative unsuitability, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract, and negligent misrepresentation and omissions. The customer sought $411,740 in damages, and the case was settled for $234,336. The complaint covered activities between December 2017 and May 2018.

Four years earlier, in December 2016, Girgis was accused of charging excessive commissions. The client sought $35,000 in damages, and the case was settled for $9,999. This complaint was regarding equity OTC and common and preferred stocks, and it took place while Girgis was registered with Legend Securities.

These recurring complaints raise serious concerns about Girgis’s professional conduct and the financial institutions’ oversight where he was registered.

Who is John Girgis of SW Financial?

John Girgis is a broker who has been registered with various brokerage firms since 2013. He is currently registered with SW Financial, where he was employed from 2019 to 2023. Prior to that, he was registered with Worden Capital Management LLC from 2016 to 2019, and Legend Securities, Inc. from 2013 to 2016. John Girgis has been the subject of five customer complaints between 2010 and 2023, one of which was denied. The most recent complaints are regarding unsuitability, excessive trading/commissions, unauthorized trading, negligence, and churning.
