The latest complaint, filed in May 2024, alleges that Richardson is presently an investment advisor representative and sole owner of Financial Partners of America (“FPA”), which is a licensed insurance producer. The customer alleges that the investment was unsuitable and asserts causes of action against FPA and Richardson for breach of fiduciary duty, securities fraud, professional negligence, constructive fraud, negligent misrepresentation, punitive damages, and a claim of control person liability against Richardson.
In 2023, a second investor complaint alleged that Richardson recommended an unsuitable investment while with Financial Partners of America. This complaint was settled in favor of the investor for $84,000. Similarly, a third complaint in 2022 alleged Richardson recommended an unsuitable investment, and failed to act in the best interest of his client. This complaint was also settled in favor of the investor for $84,000.
Additionally, Richardson is involved in a lawsuit in the 18th Judicial District Court of Sedgewick County, Kansas. The lawsuit alleges that Richardson promoted Premier Global Investments, a private equity firm that was later sued by regulators in Oklahoma and Kansas for giving false information and financial wrongdoings. The lawsuit seeks to recover commissions earned by Richardson in his alleged role for the fund.
