Financial Advisor Weina Hou Faces Customer Complaints

Weina Hou, a financial advisor from San Mateo, California, is facing customer allegations related to unsuitable investment recommendations. Hou’s BrokerCheck report discloses two complaints from investors. The first complaint, filed in 2022, alleges she misrepresented and sold an unsuitable structured product investment, with alleged investor damages between $500,000 and $1,000,000. A second customer complaint filed in September 2024, alleges Hou misrepresented a corporate bond investment while working with Cetera Investment Services. This complaint alleges damages of at least $5,000.

Hou has been working in the securities industry for 13 years and has been with Cetera Investment Services since 2018. Before this, she worked with Merrill Lynch, MetLife Securities, and Pruco Securities. She has passed five exams required for the securities industry and holds licenses in several states, including Arizona, California, and New York.
