Timothy Nathaniel Darnell, formerly registered with Bankers Life Securities, Inc., has been the subject of several customer disputes alleging unsuitable investment recommendations, breach of fiduciary duty, negligence, misrepresentation, and selling away in connection with First Liberty private investment offerings.

According to FINRA BrokerCheck, in September 2025, a customer complaint was filed alleging unsuitable investment recommendations, breach of fiduciary duty, negligence, misrepresentation, and selling away related to an alleged Ponzi scheme involving First Liberty Building & Loan, LLC. The customer is seeking $1,000,000 in damages. Additional complaints were filed on September 30, 2025 and October 24, 2025, each alleging unsuitable recommendations, breach of fiduciary duty, negligence, misrepresentation, and selling away tied to First Liberty Building & Loan. The complaints allege $400,000 and $350,000 in damages, respectively.

Darnell was terminated from Bankers Life Securities in September 2025. Investors who purchased private investment offerings through Timothy Darnell may have recovery options through FINRA arbitration, particularly in cases involving allegations of selling away.
