UBS Advisor Scott Meador Faces $1M Unsuitable Investment Complaint

Scott Meador’s BrokerCheck report discloses two investor complaints, one of which is currently pending. A pending complaint filed in November 2024 alleges investor damages of $1 million, due to the use of an account to collateralize a line of credit that was unsuitably allocated in equities. The customers further allege Meador failed to act in their best interest. A 2009 complaint, filed during Meador’s tenure at Merrill Lynch, alleged unsuitable investments. The complaint was resolved through a $40,000 settlement. Meador, based in Naples, Florida, has maintained registration with UBS Financial Services as a broker since 2008 and as an investment advisor since 2013. Prior to this, he was registered with Merrill Lynch in White Plains, New York from 1992 to 2008.
