Financial Advisor Richard Jackson Suspended by FINRA

Former Equity Services financial advisor Richard Jackson has been suspended following allegations of breaking industry rules. According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), Jackson used to work as a broker with Equity Services, which fired him in 2022. A Letter of Acceptance, Waiver, and Consent (# 2022076868701) issued in August 2023 disclosed FINRA’s findings that Jackson sent messages to customers that were misleading and exaggerated between January 2020 and November 2022. These messages, sent while he was with Equity Services, allegedly included predictions about future performance, and left out important risks related to the investments.

For example, in March 2021, Jackson allegedly wrote to a customer that a technology company would “likely grow in excess of 20% per year for the next 5 years,” and that he “predict[ed] the [company’s] business … will beat current Wall-Street expectations by a lot (Growth over 40%+).” In another example disclosed by FINRA, Jackson wrote to another customer regarding a pharmaceutical company that he was “[ v ]ery confident this is a $1000+ stock within 12 to 36 months.”
