Financial Advisor Allison Terlip Faces Allegations of Unsuitable Investment Recommendations

Allison Terlip, a former financial advisor in Navarre, Florida, is facing an investor complaint alleging that, while working for Ameritas Investment Company, she used a “deceptive two-part investment strategy” that led to recommendations for equity-indexed annuities that were not suitable. The complaint alleges that this caused the investor damages of $817,916.  

Terlip’s BrokerCheck report also shows a criminal charge. In March 2023, she was charged in the Circuit Court for Santa Rosa County, Florida, with one felony count of aggravated assault by threat of a deadly weapon. She did not contest the charge. The report notes that the case is still pending. Terlip has 14 years of experience in the securities industry. She has worked for MML Investors Services and First Command Financial Planning in the past.
