According to FINRA BrokerCheck, broker Ross Barish, formerly of Joseph Stone Capital, is currently involved in a customer complaint alleging $150,000 in damages. Barish was permanently barred from acting as a financial advisor by the Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”) in August 2022 for recommending to customers a pattern of high cost, in-and-out trading without any reasonable basis to believe that his recommendations were suitable for anyone.

The SEC’s findings state that Barish recommended to customers a pattern of high cost, in-and-out trading without any reasonable basis to believe that his recommendations were suitable for anyone.
The complaint alleged Barish’s recommendations resulted in losses for the customers and ill-gotten gains for Barish. The complaint also alleged that Barish concealed material information from and made material misrepresentations to his customers, and that Barish engaged in unauthorized trading in customer accounts.
Barish is currently involved in a customer complaint which alleges $150,000 in damages due to violations of state and federal securities laws including alleged excessive and unsuitable trading. The broker’s comment on the disclosure states: “The compliant is without merit and I deny the claims and allegations of improper conduct. I intend to vigorously defend the claims and expect all claims to be denied.”
